
Dave Hurst, the proprietor of Rouge Roastery, and I finished his company logo and identity recently (above).
The identity is made up of two components. The logotype and slogan (which is sometimes replaced with the URL for his site) is the primary element, and then the bean'n'gear icon which is used as a detail element. Dave wanted a fun, natural look for his coffee company. Dave, who is an avid biker, hiker, and outdoorsman, wanted a fun and natural look for his coffee company. After all, the only thing he loves more than being outside is a good cup of joe.
